Two Schools, Two Open Houses for the Neighborhood
The Harvard-Kent and Warren Prescott open their doors to the community this week.
Today is Monday, Nov. 7. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. Both of the neighborhood's elementary schools are opening their doors this week so the community can get a look inside. The Warren Prescott is hosting an open house on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. You can get more details at that event listing. And the Harvard-Kent's open house is on Thursday, starting at 12:30. Read more about that event here.
2. Are you looking to mingle with other business people in the neighborhood? One of your would-be cohorts is organizing a networking event for this Thursday morning. Get more info here and get in touch with him to participate.
3. This Friday is Veterans Day and I'm guessing that's one reason why Bunker Hill Community College is bringing author (and veteran) Tim O'Brien in for a public talk on Thursday afternoon. Seats are limited for this event, so if you're interested, you've got to RSVP. O'Brien has written extraordinary stuff about Vietnam. If you can't make the event, at least get your hands on a copy of The Things They Carried, one of my all-time favorite books.
