On Friday, March 15, the Townies Association is hosting the Shamrockah Down Sully's from 8 p.m. to midnight at Sullivan's Pub, 85 Main St., Charlestown.

The event will feature live traditional Irish music from Stuart Peak & the Bowling Brothers, step dancing from the Woods School of Irish Dance and live entertainment by DJ Jackie Kelly. There is a suggested donation of $5.

Proceeds will benefit the Bunker Hill Day Parade. Please stop by and enjoy an evening full of Irish fun. We would like to thank Whole Foods Market, The Cooperative Bank and Sullivan's Pub for sponsoring the event.

The Townie Association Inc. would like to thank Charlestown Against Drugs for their generous donation. We will use the funds to launch our new campaign, Pennies for the Parade. With this campaign, we hope to increase awareness for the parade and assist the Battle of Bunker Hill Parade Committee in raising funds for the parade (which will be held on Sunday, June 16).

Keep an eye out for patriotic donation jars throughout the businesses in Charlestown. We are following the example of school children who once saved the USS Constitution by donating their pennies. Help support the Bunker Hill Day Parade by throwing in your "change" into the jars! If you would like to help decorate and/or distribute donation jars, please email townie.association@gmail.com.

On June 21, there will be a Blast from the Past: Townie Reunion Party at the Bunker Hill Knights of Columbus. Join ProMusic Productions' top DJs, Kevin and "Smokey" Cain, as they spin all the very best '70s, '80s and '90s Dance Classics.

Tickets cost $20 or $25 at the door. Reserve a table for 10 in advance for only $150. For tickets, call Kevin Cain at 617-417-1290. You don’t want to miss out—it will be monument-al!

Proceeds from the Blast from the Past: Townie Reunion Party will be donated to the Townie Association’s campaign, "Paint the Town: Red, White, & Blue," which is a grassroots effort to boost neighborhood spirit and pride in the Bunker Hill Day Parade by providing Charlestown with a festive and patriotic atmosphere. We will be collaborating with the coordinators of the Townie Reunion to decorate Charlestown’s parade route this year.
