Top Stories: Center Closing and a Charlestown Runner

Life Focus Center to close in June: Charlestown’s Life Focus Center announced this week that its contracts with the state had been terminated. Charlestown patch readers reacted strongly to the news, but the state said it would do what it could to minimize how much this development impacts customers and employees.

Charlestown Carnival champion takes aim at 2013: Things are looking pretty good for next year,” Sean Boyle said in an email to Charlestown Patch, “and we have made some pretty good connections, and an awesome, motivated, dedicated team to conquering this battle.”

Charlestown runner among marathon’s best: Hilary K. Dionne, a 26-year-old Charlestown resident, finished the race in two hours and 51 minutes, making her the 15th fastest woman on the course and the 11th-fastest in her age group.

Olives hiring up for opening day? Olives posted a job advertisement on Craigslist this week looking for “talented individuals to help round out our culinary team.”

Upcoming work on the Tobin Bridge: Preparation will continue next week ahead of the more serious work when painters will have to close lanes of the bridge.
