Todd English, Chef Boyardee to Appear on E! Series

An E! television "docu-series," will include scenes following Charlestown's most famous chef, Todd English.

Todd English, whose Charlestown Olives location reopened this year after a long stretch of inactivity, will soon return to your television screen—though this time he'll be on basic cable instead of PBS.

The Boston Herald reported Tuesday that English will be one of several personalities profiled in an upcoming "docu-series" about New York restauranteurs.

The show, according to The Herald, will also include Anna Boiardi. Boiardi, heir to the Chef Boyardee supermarket pasta empire, also wrote “Delicious Memories: Recipes and Memories of the Chef Boyardee Family.”

More at the Boston Herald.

Oh, but Bette with little research of your real name I see, you're a real estate agent. Now I understand your investment in hype; you're a bottom feeder much like lawyers of a certain type--the ambulance chaser type. It does you and your ilk well to have pretensions and high-ed crap like Olives and Todd English about to support your selling-off of CTown and the displacement of real folks and families. Now I get your support of Mr. Brand English!!

"egomaniac white men" Hate much Mouthie? Why you so mad? You pull that card and all your points are invalid...not that you actually had any points, except spew pure hate (ie, jealousy?)

I think the new menu is slightly overpriced, but they pour a great cocktail that you can't get elsewhere. Stick the app menu and sit at the bar, you'll actually enjoy yourself. If you open your eyes, you'll actually recognize lots of faces that you see walking the streets of Charlestown. Faces I've seen for over 15yrs (Psst...here's a hint...Begins with a T, has one O and ends with a S).

Margaret, you're incorrect. "by Todd English" has always been on that sign.

Your vile language speaks for itself . I have been retired for over three years and never used Todd English as a selling point in real estate. But just for the record, and you won't believe this: Todd English put Charlestown on the map!!!! If you don't believe this, you've got your head in the sand. Over and out. I want nothing more to do with the likes of you. Sir Mouthy!!!

Bette you were giving a pretty good return of fire..until you stated that Todd English put Charlestown on the map. LMMFAO. Sounds to me like English abandoned this town for a number of years. Does he give anything back in return?

Have you bothered to look up Mr. Englishs' record on hiring or the complaints against him? Or the fact that he is in a multi-million dollar suit for non payment of rent and numerous other litigations? What is his record on hiring people of color, women as more than waitresses? Hey, it's not too good! But y'all keep attacking the messenger here and shutting out fact and opinion! Keep your head's in the sand ostrich people, followers--sheep people!

Just a person!

Bette,
Please! I have to agree with Larry on his point.
Todd English put Charlestown on the map! I really doubt that, I believe, correct me if I am wrong, but there are many other people, places and things, well before Todd English was even born!
That put Charlestown on the map.
My personal feeling, would not stand in line anyplace to spend my money, as for food quality and quantity, I don't believe Olive's makes the grade! (just my 2cents)

I just had an e-mail conversation with Matt Casey. I had asked what it takes to filter filthy language on this site (see Mouthie's trash talk). He said that it takes a "number" of individuals to click the link "Flag as Inappropriate." He wouldn't share the exact number, but said "it's small." I just flagged Mouthie's comments - won't you join me?

Nooreen, you're a crybaby and irrelevant. Won't you join me in censoring whatever offends your prigish sensibilities. You're a control wonk.

I agree, Noreen, and I just clicked the Flag button as well. Mouthy, you should take it down a notch. You expressed your opinion and Bette was just pointing out that your comments sound pretty hateful. She was hardly on the "attack" with anything that merited that response.

Todd English put Charlestown on the map? Try the Battle of Bunker Hill and years of amazing history.

Anyways, out of curiosity:

Does English give back to the community?
Does he donate to local organizations and youth sports programs?
Does he hire locals, as in those who live in Charlestown?

I certainly hope he does seeing as how, from the talks of it, is making a "killing" with his businesses in Charlestown.

You're weak! Debate should be stong. Why are strong words, gritty naghty words, and fully formed opinions considered HATE. And so what if something or someone is hated! Too potent for you? Stirs your middle of the road complacency, your vanilla existence. When big business, government regulation, the cost of utilities, transportation, food, your loss of access to services, goods, education, mortgages and actually rights in what is becoming an increasing Police State, will your passive language and positions help you, protect you, save you? WAKE-UP! Certain of you have attacked an opinion stater for strong words with the expecation that you are exempt. You're censors, you're dillusional! You want to be spoon-fed niceties and niceness in a world so rapidly changing you're unaware.

Mouthy/Ima, please stop this. While I have no doubt Ms. Manning can stick up for herself, it can't feel good to be under attack. And I suspect you know something about how that feels. Its common practice to exclude such language on comment boards. This is a community forum and it needs to be kept civil so people feel comfortable speaking their minds.

Why should anyone have to conform to your notion of "Comfort Zone", Jay you're as bad as the old biddies who are thought police and control freaks. CTown is a diverse place, poplulated by folks from varied backgrounds, socio economic/class circumstances and with a multitude of educational levels- all with their own particular brand of communicating. If you are afraid of the potency of language, the use of strong language for effect and attention grabbing and choose to assign that someone who uses it has been the victim of it, your kind of simplistic in your thinking. If you think rhetoric, strong opinion & language is offensive-You are part of the problem with AmeriKa. I find ignorant comments, pot shots, controlling comments, those who self-censor and attempt to thwart the rights of others to be far worse offenses. You just stick to your apple pie life and keep good company with the CTown Ladies!!
