This week, our Best of Patch Reader’s Choice poll asked you to vote for your favorite sports equipment company in town.

It wasn’t much of a contest. We only had two candidates—Townie Sportswear and Swell Body + Boutique—and Townie Sportswear came out as the clear winner.

The Terminal Street shop took 94 percent of the vote this week. Despite the easy win, owner John Kelly said he was happy to hear the news.

“I’ve been out there since 74 just banging away,” Kelly said.  “I appreciate the people’s confidence in me. Hopefully it’ll continue.”
