"Parked Illegally." End of the story. Cops do nothing about this. CNC refuses to address this and there's even a Boston cop on the committee!! Different rules for different people.

I have lived in Charlestown my whole life and this has been going on as long as I can remember. Why all of a sudden is it a problem? This is no different than the people who complain about the Constitution firing it's cannons at dusk or St. Francis' bells ringing every hour. It's dumb. Try focusing your energy on something real like the attacks on Main Street and near community college.

There is a tremendous difference Mary Beth: Neither the Constitution or the churches are breaking any laws. Just because something has been going on "forever" doesn't make it right. Are there bigger issues? Sure there are, but I find it strange that people would continue to defend people clearly scoffing at parking laws (or any laws for that matter).

How do the busses negotiate those motorcycles? Has anyone who uses that bus stop or lives near it seen how (or if) busses and bus riders are able to adapt to the bikes?

You're right John, there is a joke coming, and it's you. The fact that this is your sense of community has me in stitches. You are that closed minded to see this doesn't affect one person, but it has a major affect upon all those traveling in the rotary, clogging up traffic and reducing the amount of travel lanes? THAT is the problem with them parking there. I just don't get how they can get away with it? How can a cop drive past that and not ticket them? I see your point of view now though, anything against the system is good. Anything with the system is bad. Different rules for different people. Another perfect example of what is wrong with the City of Boston and with those running it.

Joseph, haven't you learned from all these years living in Charlestown? That's the way things have always been so that's the way things will continue to be. Just like kids loitering in front of stores, or the open use/dealing of heroin, cars getting broken into and the police doing nothing about it, etc.. Deal with it or leave. We hate change around here. You wouldn't understand, you're not from here.

What about the people who park on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse and the Life Focus Center in City Square? Illegal???

Some notes:
1) Enforcement or parking laws is lax everywhere in the city on Sundays since BTD does not work. This is not just a Charlestown or Teamsters issue.
2) If the Teamsters supposedly have so much clout with the city, why don’t they just get BTD to change all the signs to exclude Sundays?
3) The Teamsters do, however, park their black sedans on the city of boston sidewalk in front of the building, most days. This is plain arrogant. If anyone else did the same they would get a ticket. This needs to stop.
4) The pendulum has swung on corruption. The police aren’t going to be able to “look the other way” anymore on illegal parking like this. Citizens are demanding honestly, transparency, and action from their government.

This is a non-issue people. Most if not all of our most influential Massachusetts politicians, national advisors and invited guests, as well as celebrity influences are all frequent visitors of these monthly meetings. Our parking conditions, confinements and restrictions are transparent. We park to simply park and attend our monthly meeting(s), with no other intent or disregard.

These TOONIES have nothing better to do.
Most of them are trust fund babies, they come to Charlestown buy a new toy (real estate) with Mommy and Daddies money stay here for a couple of years and make everybody around them miserable, then they hit the road with their small profit and back to suburbia. TOONIES have been stirring things up since they've infested the Boston neighborhoods, over in the North End every summer you read in the papers about how upset these TOONIE frauds are because of the feast and the smell of the sausages.
LEAVE THE TEAMSTERS ALONE, otherwise go back to Weston or Newton or wherever you frauds are from.
