Police Reports: Shots Fired During Fight

These reports were collected from the Boston Police Department and took place between Dec. 24 and Jan. 7 within Charlestown's District A-15. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
Shots Fired During Fight
Shots were fired on Cambridge Street after a fight that began in Somerville continued into Charlestown on Friday, Dec. 28.
Boston Police responded to Cambridge Street at around 1:23 a.m. for the report of shots fired. Somerville Police officers and several Massachusetts State Police cruisers were already on the scene and in the process of detaining several black males.
“Upon further investigation, the officers discovered that there was a large fight at the Holiday Inn in Somerville and that this was a part of the fight,” according to Boston Police reports. “The officers also found some ballistic evidence on scene.”
During the police investigation, one of the suspects allegedly became hostile toward police and kicked a male officer. The suspect also allegedly attempted to remove the officer’s firearm from his holster, according to reports.
Police were able to subdue the man and transported him to the police station. He was charged with disorderly conduct, according to a Boston Herald report.
Earlier in the evening, Somerville Police arrested arrested two women, Daphne Evans, 21, and Shaneze Franklin, 20, both of Dorchester, in connection to the fight at the Holiday Inn. Both were charged with participating in an affray, Somerville Patch reported.
The incident led the city of Somerville to close the hotel's "Night Games" lounge indefinitely, according to Somerville Patch.
Break-in on Corey Street
A Corey Street resident reported a break-in on Tuesday, Dec. 25 at around 4:30 p.m.
Building Fire Reported on Main Street
Police responded to a building on Main Street for the report of a fire on Tuesday, Dec. 25 at around 5:21 p.m.
Once on the scene, police saw smoke coming from the building and investigated. They determined that the fire was the result of "the careless disposal of a cigarette," according to reports.
Drug Arrest on Tufts Street
The Boston Police District A-1 Drug Control Unit arrested an unnamed individual on drug charges on Tufts Street on Friday, Dec. 28 at around 10:30 a.m. The individual was charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.
An unnamed individual was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 3 at around 11:30 a.m. on Old Ironsides Way on a warrant issued out of Charlestown District Court.
Man Struck with Vehicle after Argument
A man reported being struck by a vehicle on Main Street on Saturday, Jan. 5 after he was involved in a verbal confrontation with the driver.
The victim told police that he was in an argument with an unknown male driving a dark motor vehicle and that the man struck him with the car before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Charges have not been filed.
Drug Arrest on High Street
The Boston Police District A-1 Drug Control Unit arrested an unnamed individual on drug charges on High Street on Saturday, Jan. 5.
Loud Party Reported on Walford Way
Police were called to a Walford Way residence on Sunday, Jan. 6 at around 3:06 a.m. for the report of a loud party. When police arrived, they could hear loud music coming from the second-floor apartment. Police attempted to speak with the occupants, and an unknown female reportedly answered the door then slammed it in the officers’ faces.
The Boston Housing Authority will follow up with an investigation, according to reports.
