You couldn't have picked a more perfect setting to kick off the holiday season in Charlestown on Saturday, Dec. 1. As big, fat snowflakes fell, covering the city with a thin but picturesque blanket of white, Santa Claus visited with children in Preservation Park, while stores throughout the neighborhood offered special activities and savings during the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce's 2012 Holiday Stroll.

Over on Medford Street, artists opened their studios and offered up unique gift items in a Holiday Boutique at the StoveFactory, while the Women's Club provided even more shopping opportunities at their Holiday Fair at the Knights of Columbus.

It was spectacular I was in awe of my kids expressions at all the blow up decorations. It was like enchanted Charlestown, I will never get that same expression again my son was sooooo excited and my daughter shaking with excitement. This Is what it is all about the eyes and excitement of Christmas through a child. Nothing like it!!!! Doug and helper elves thanks for an awesome display. It was great seeing Niko and how excited he was I can honestly say it made my eyes tear up. Bedford falls has nothing on us we are and always will be a community that will do what's best for our kids and our own.
