Olives Keeps Liquor License, Looks Ready

looks ready to go, and, should it open its doors in the next 45 days, the long-dormant Charlestown restaurant will be able to serve liquor.

The Boston Licensing Board decided Thursday that Celebrity Chef Todd English can maintain his liquor license for at least another month and a half. Should he fail to present the proper paperwork and pick up the license in that time, he will have to return for yet another hearing—but that doesn’t seem likely.

A local resident going by @tlecam on twitter reported that the paper blocking the windows at the restaurant has been taken down. He snapped the above picture of the well-lighted interior.

The restaurant itself has still yet to set an opening date, but a woman who answered the phone there Thursday said the place should open  “hopefully within the next couple of weeks.”

During English’s , he reported that the restaurant itself had passed the city’s requirements, but the building needed a couple more licenses before it could legally open its doors.
