No Trash Pickup Today In Charlestown

The city has issued a revised schedule for holiday recycling and trash pickups.

According to the City of Boston's Public Works site, pickups for trash and recycling will be delayed one day between Dec. 26 and 31.

This means that Charlestown residents who would normally get trash and recycling pickup today, Wednesday the 28th, will instead have pickup tomorrow.  After this week the normal collection schedules will resume for Charlestown.

There are no planned delays, even during other holidays, for trash and recycling pickup in Charlestown until December 25th in 2012.  More information can be found at the Public Works site here.

Most streets are a mess. The Patriot-Bridge didn't help things when they published a blurb on Thursday (page 3) with the headline "Trash Day Not Changed", and then goes on to report: Wednesday is trash day for all of Charlestown every week (even after a Monday holiday). Residents are reminded to not put trash out before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
