Neighborhood Council Launches New Website

The page will keep residents informed with meeting times, agendas, minutes and more.

The Charlestown Neighborhood Council on Monday launched a new website.

“I decided that the CNC needed to have a website so people could keep track of the meetings and the results of the meetings,” said council member Diane Grant, who designed the site.

Located at charlestownneighborhoodcouncil.org, the website lists the names and email addresses for all council members and committee members as well as upcoming meeting dates, agendas and minutes.

This week’s calendar features two events: the council’s general meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4, and the Rutherford Avenue/Austin Street meeting, scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6, both at the Knights of Columbus, 545 Medford St.

Residents interested in appearing before the council at one of their meetings can contact council vice chairman David Whelan at 617-201-3802 or whelan.dm@gmail.com to be put on the following month’s agenda, according to the website.

we decided as a group the website is what we needed. I had other council members helping me with layout and content. Thanks Becca!

Excellent! This was much needed. I'm looking forward to seeing the content up-to-date. Nice work Diane and the rest of the CNC.

@Diane - Why is this "new" site going to be any different from the existing website? The "old" site was supposed to be updated with the exact same information that you reference in this article, and it never was. Isn't there some old saying about putting lipstick on a pig? I'm thoroughly confused by this press release.

Meet the new site, same as the old site.

While I'm glad there is a site now available, I hope there will also be space added to let the CNC know about issues that are of concern and polls to vote And comment on these issues. Thank you!
