Help the Boys & Girls Club Swim Team Get to Nationals

Members of the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club Swim Team are headed to the National Championship, but they need local support to get there.

For the first time in 40 years, seven members of the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club Swim Team will help represent Team New England in the Speedo Boys & Girls Club Swimming National Championship, but they need your help fundraising.

On Saturday, Jan. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. the team will be holding a fundraiser at their reunion held at the Warren Tavern. All donations will be welcome.

The competition will be held April 8-10 at the Carrollwood Village Swim Club in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The members from Charlestown will join forces with other Boys & Girls Clubs from around the area including Blue Hills, South Boston, Woburn and Nashua, N.H. to form Team New England.

Representing Charlestown will be Meaghan Doherty, 16, Colby Cahill, 14, Matteo Grando, 14, Teaghan McLaughlin, 13, Carly Cahill, 12, Jonathan Smith, 12 and Lauren Connors, 7.

The Charlestown Boys & Girls Club Swim Team is led by Head Coach and Aquatics Director Marci Ferry and Assistant Coaches Stephanie Ward-McIsaac and Jesse MacDonald.
