Five Things: Tiny Ships, Networking and More

Five things you need to know today, March 5.

1. Who’s your dentist?

This week’s Best Of Patch Readers’ Choice topic is dentists. Do you have a good one? Is she gentle but firm about your flossing? Comforting when breaking the bad news about your cavities? Let us know in this week’s survey.

2. Do you own a business in Charlestown?

Do yourself a favor and claim your Places listing on Patch. It only takes seconds to make a claim. Once verified and approved, you’ll get plenty of nifty tools to help you reach townies and drum up more business.

3. The very model…

If you like ships, like models (ahem, little ships, not those other models), and like museums, head down to the USS Constitution Museum for the 33rd annual Model Shipwright Guild Exhibit. These model makers will demonstrate how the teensy ships get in the bottles, display miniatures of famous naval vessels and more. The exhibit is in the middle of its two-month run. Doors open at 10 a.m..

4. Network, socially

Looking for a business edge? Whether it’s to help land a job, new client or promotion, networking is an essential part of any career. Learn how to make conversation, meet new people and have them remember you at the “Art of Networking” class at Bunker Hill Community College. The two-hour seminar starts at 1 p.m. costs $35.

5. Wear your gloves

The National Weather Service is calling for a sunny day with a high temperature just above freezing.
