Five Things: Chamber Events on Charlestown Live

Here are five things you need to know about for June 28

 

1. Charlestown Live. This week's Charlestown Live program will feature host Diane Grant with guest Abby Gray, proprietor of Olivia Browning. They will discuss upcoming events of the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce. The show can be seen live on Thursday, June 28th at 6:30 pm on BNN-TV channel 9, RCC channel 15 or on the web at www.bnntv.org. The program is repeated on the same channels and web site on Saturday at 8 pm and Monday at 10:30 a.m. For more information, contact Kathy Giordano at kathy.gio46@gmail.com.

2. Liquid embroidery class for seniors. Decorate shirts, hats and the like with roll-on paints and iron-on designs. Sponsored by the Golden Age Senior Center.

3. Boston City Council: The City Council will meet to discuss concussions and other sports-related injuries in the Boston Schools in a Working Session beginning at 11 a.m. at Boston City Hall. 

4. Third Annual Thomas Jefferson Lecture: join Hugh Howard, author of “Dr. Kimball and Mr. Jefferson: Rediscovering the Founding Fathers of American Architecture” at the Massachusetts Historical Society. Howard will speak on Fiske Kimball, a writer, scholar and museum director who recovered Thomas Jefferson’s architectural genius. This event is free of charge and begins at 6:00 p.m.

5. WFNX Downtown Boston Block-Party: Live bands and a cash bar for folks 21 and older at Summer St. Pedestrian Zone. Entry to this event is free. Come and enjoy live music and a great atmosphere after a long day of work from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
