Dorchester Community Organizer Running For Mayor

Bill Walczak co-founded the Codman Square Health Center and Codman Academy Charter Public School.

Longtime Dorchester community organizer Bill Walczak has announced that he is running for Boston mayor, adding his name to a growing list of candidates.

Walczak co-founded the Codman Square Health Center in Dorchester and is the president of the Codman Academy Charter Public School, which he also founded, according to the Boston Globe.

“We have a really good group of candidates; they’re all really good people,” Walczak told the Globe. “It’s going to be a sprint, and I look forward to the discussions we’re going to have about the future of the city.”

Walczak is also vice president at Shawmut Design and Construction, where he has represented the company before government and community groups.
