The Boston Redevelopment Authority's research division recently completed and released a series of industry profiles taking a look at the most important job categories across the city.
The profiles, according to the Redevelopment Authority, focus on each industry’s "employment trends and projections, occupations, educational requirements, and wages."
The authority's communication wing will highlight an industry per week—and we'll do our own analysis here at Patch—but the authority highlighted the following facts in its release announcing the reports:
Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 jobs in Boston are in the health care industry?
Did you know that Boston has nearly 3.5 times more jobs in education than the nation?
Did you know that the average salary in Boston for jobs in finance and insurance is over $170K?
Did you know that Boston is projected to add nearly 50,000 new jobs by 2015?
Did you know that four industries in Boston pay an average of $100,000 for more?
