Charlestown, Boston Give Big to Obama in June
Late June fundraisers bring Boston donors to president's side.

Townies, Toonies and Bostonians who opened their wallets to presidential candidates in June made it abundantly clear who they want to win this November: Barack Obama.
The president raised nearly 11 times as much as the former Massachusetts Governor in June, stemming from 17-times as many campaign transactions.
Romney performed best in the North End Waterfront area, where Obama raised only 50 percent more than the former governor.
In Charlestown, Obama’s nearly $14,000 in donations left Romney’s $440 far behind.
In total, Boston donors gave more than $357,000 to the two presidential campaigns last month in more than 1,400 transactions.
While the state’s voting history may explain some of the lopsided results shown here, it’s also worth noting that president Obama held fundraisers in the city in late June.
