According to people who track this stuff, as of November 2012 Facebook has about 1 billion users and more than 42 million pages. That's a lot of people talking, sharing photos and playing Farmville.

Quite a few Charlestown businesses have joined Facebook, where they share updates, deals, photos and other information with people who "like" their pages. Charlestown Patch is among them (and if you haven't "liked" us yet, please do so today). Liking a business is a great way to find out what's new on the menu at your favorite restaurant or whether your coffee shop will be closed on a holiday—plus you can tell them just how much you loved that turkey club, yoga class, new pair of shoes or whatever else you bought/enjoyed at their establishment lately.
