3 Things You Need to Know Today, Dec. 10

Bedtime stories, boutiques and political art.

Today is Friday, Dec. 10. Here are three things you need to know today.

1. Bedtime, a bit early

Tonight at 5 p.m., the Charlestown Nursery School will host Maria DiVencenzo, author of The Scariest Dream Ever. There will be stories and a book signing. For every book sold at the event, $5 will be donated to Harvest on Vine, the local food pantry. The event is free and open to the community.

2. Luxuriate, in a boutique

Salon Forty Four will be transformed for a couple of hours tonight when it hosts Stella & Dot Jewelry for a trunk show. Come for jewelry, stay for drinks and cupcakes by Bubbles Cakes. You can RSVP at 617-252-9745.

3. Art imitating life

Shine a Light, an original performance about poverty, war, sexual assault and HIV/AIDS, will be staged tonight at Bunker Hill Community College. This is a student show that includes acoustic music, poetry and dance. It starts at 6 p.m. in the A300 auditorium.
