Boston Organics, Food For Free Form New Partnership
Charlestown-based Boston Organics and nonprofit Food For Free announce a partnership to expand Food For Free’s Home Delivery, a program which brings food to low-income Cambridge residents who cannot access food pantries due to illness or disability.
The partnership provides an immediate 20 percent increase in deliveries with room to grow in response to future demand.
Currently, Food For Free’s Home Delivery brings 40 - 45 pounds of groceries to 60 homebound Cambridge clients one Saturday per month.
"Through the partnership with Boston Organics, a second delivery day will be added each month to accommodate 12—15 new clients," said Sasha Purpura, Executive Director of Food For Free.
