Boo! Charlestown Resident Attends Historical Society of Old Newbury's Halloween Hauntings

John Lewis of Charlestown, Lisa Bellavia from North Andover, with Holly and Dan Fionte of Newburyport attended the 2012 Halloween Hauntings put on by the Historical Society of Old Newbury.

The evening featured a 20-minute "1,000 Ways to Die" hayride through Newburyport's Oak Hill Cemetery, focusing not on people's lives, but the ways in which they died.

Jay Williamson, curator for the Historical Society of Old Newbury and event creator, explains, "Our focus was to look at the different ways that people perished in the 19th century, ways that rarely hold true today."

Costumed guests enjoyed organ dirges, a multi-media presentation, potions and treats amid the beauty of the Brown Chapel, a neoclassical granite building built in 1914.
